SACRED board member Rabbi Julia Margolis reads an inspiring reading from the Torah. Readings from all 7 faiths represented focused on values that bind us together, such as care for the weak.

On Sunday the 18th January SACRED was delighted to be invited to take part in an interfaith celebration of ‘World Religion Day’ at the National Baha’i Centre in Johannesburg. The centre organised the event to mark this significant day with inspirational readings taken from the holy books of seven religions, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism and of course Baha’ism. SACRED was thrilled to have board member Rabbi Julia Margolis there to read those taken from Judaism. The readings were chosen to demonstrate the similarities between the participating religions, with principles like kindness to strangers and the poor being common themes.
